You've got to love acrylics!

I have been trying to decide how to save this painting. It started out with a rider and green,tree-ed background. And it just bugged me! I kept reworking the rider and it got worse. I do need to have a huge sign over my eisel that says..Stop Me Before I Kill Again!....I need to get out of the trap of overworking stuff. Anyway, inspiration struck and I decided to obliterate the little man and completely remove him from the painting. So here is where we are now and I am really liking it. There is still more to do but you can get the idea. I apologize for the glare but I had to use the flash. The previous version is down below on this blog. I am thinking of titling it -Dancing in the Moonlight. But..I am open to suggestions! Feel free to offer title suggestions below! Happy Holidays!

Polo Painting WIP

Update #2
Painting on the right is WIP (Work in Progress) number two.I have gotten some more work done on this painting. I am pleased with how it is coming along. I have a few more hours to go before I call this one finished. Sorry about the glare..this one is too big to fit on the scanner so I had to use the digital camara. I'll be needing a name for this one so suggestions are welcome!

Laying a bit low as I go through round two with Lyme disease. But I did manage to get some painting done on this. I am trying to keep it real loose with lots of brushstrokes. Sorry about the glare from the flash. This is acrylic on canvas board and measures 16 x 24. Feel free to post your comments. Oh, I forgot to mention, if you click on any image it will enlarge in a separate window.

Going large!

As promised, here is the WIP (Work In Progress) Of my latest watercolor. This is a large painting and measures 24 x 25, watercolor on Arches HP. I have been getting many requests for large prints and ,unfortunately, my paintings Collection, Connection and Harmony measure 11 x 14. Enlarging them for prints would reduce the quality of the print. I have a few hours to go on this-
I am hoping to have large giclee prints available of this latest painting by November. Please, join my mailing list(link on sidebar) to be notified of availability! I am thrilled that so many of you enjoy my work so much!

ShowJumper

I have another almost completed painting. A few small details I need to add. This one is of a showjumper. I kept it loose and colorful. I wanted to capture that feelingg of flying and freedom when you jump a big fence. And I love the beautiful light that reflected off this chestnut gelding. I photographed this outside so there is a bit of glare on the painting.

The painting is acrylic on gallery wrapped, 18 x 24 canvas.
Available for sale!

Some new art!

Well, I have been BUSY creating new art! When I am painting I get behind on updating my blog! This newest paintin is acrylics on gallery wrapped canvas, measures 11 x 14 and it is titled Midnight Rendezvous. This is a very manly stallion that we brought a mare to. We had a late start and arrived up at Saratoga around midnight. When the mare was being prepped for breeding I caught a glimpse of this very handsome boy peering out at us from his backlit stall watching us. I thought it would make a wonderful impromptu painting. So here it is. Prints are available on EBAY by clicking here Prints on Ebay!
The original is available for sale
Price - $450

Art in the works

I have been getting quite a few requests for large pieces of art. I have several in the works right now. One is a watercolor Dressage piece on a full sheet of watercolor paper and measures 23 x 30. I will post a photo of it if I can keep my 8 year old son from stealing the camara batteries! :-) The second is a large acrylic piece of a show jumper. Photos coming. So for those of you who have requested show jumping art .....it is on the way! After all show jumping used to be my first love ...then I discovered dressage. The third one I am working on is a polo piece in acrylic and it is a riot of color that I hope conveys the excitement of the game. Again "MUST FIND BATTERIES!"
So photos coming. Keep the inquiries coming and feel free to post comments! If you have questions or would like to be added to mailing list ,please, feel free to pop me an email. I am very approachable and thoroughly enjoy hearing from fellow horse and art enthusiasts!
